The Parsonage is a £2 million development of stylish two-and three-bedroom red brick affordable homes three miles from Bournemouth International Airport. Whitefox provided Employers Agent and CDM-C services, for the demolition and removal of the nursing home which previously stood on the site and the delivery of the new build housing scheme.
Set in a sloping site in Bournemouth, the design for this building entailed cutting into the site and using a combination of retaining walls and crib lock walling to create a platform from which to construct 12 high end apartments with a contract value of £800k. We were engaged by the Developer to provide Party Wall services enabling the development to proceed smoothly.
Providing Party Wall services to the Developers, this project is transforming an under-used car park area into a vibrant development consisting of a 10 storey residential tower block with 112 apartments and adjacent public car park with 245 car parking spaces.
In 2013 this site was released for re-development by Bournemouth Borough Council, as part of its Town Centre Master Vision. We provided essential Party Wall Services to the Developers to allow three blocks of much-needed student accommodation for the Arts University Bournemouth as well as a car park with 382 spaces for use by local residents, commuters, shoppers and businesses. It features an attractive series of large, bright aluminium ‘fins’ in eight graduating shades from pale yellow through to bright orange and has become a familiar landmark easily visible from the Wessex Way.
Working with the University of Portsmouth, we were employed to act as Party Wall surveyors for this £9 million building programme. Combining heritage conservation with modern technology the grade II listed building was expanded with a fly tower and four-storey extension housing a brand new double height studio theatre allowing the New Theatre Royal to become a key cultural and educational hub in the South Coast.
Situated in front of the West Pier, the Holiday Inn Brighton is undergoing a £3.5 million refurbishment including the introduction of a new ‘American style’ diner. Whitefox have been employed to provide building surveying services including the investigation of concrete defects and the provision of CDM & project management services to ensure a smooth project delivery.
Working with the Developers, we provided Project Management services for the construction of this 5 storey apartment building, with retail use at ground floor and underground parking all perched atop the Narrowcliff in Newquay. The scheme utilised a number of different materials, which, combined with its cliff top location, created many interesting challenges for us to resolve.
This £2 million development is set in the heart of a traditional Cornish town and boasts many interesting design features. We were engaged by the Developers to provide project management services for the construction of 10 houses & 10 apartments and the refurbishment of a market office.
The Arts University Bournemouth is a further and higher education university specialising in art, performance, design, and media. We provided Clerk of Works services to the University during their infill extension on the North elevation. The ‘Cubist’ construction utilised specialist perforated panels which added to the aesthetics of this £2.8 million project.
The Crowne Plaza Liverpool John Lennon Airport Hotel is a vibrant four star Grade II Listed hotel situated on the site of the original Speke Aerodrome once functioning as Liverpool’s main airport. The building still incorporates a former airport terminal and control tower at the rear. Whitefox in conjunction with Avus (our partner M&E engineers) were employed to undertake a comprehensive energy audit of the building.
